About Us
We are delighted to introduce Portsdown Pumas Football Club, a recently established youth football club located in the broader Portsmouth region.
Our club, founded in 2024, distinguishes itself by fostering inclusivity and welcoming young players of all skill levels. Our primary aim is to ensure that every child participating in our teams experiences the joy of football, improves their abilities, and forms lasting friendships.
Football Training
We understand that children develop at their own pace and this is at the forefront of our club ethos. We believe in making training fun across all age ranges, ensuring continuous development for all. At Portsdown Pumas we group our players within teams which enable them access to ability appropriate training and matches whilst fostering inclusivity.
Summer Training | Wednesday | 6.00 - 7.00pm | King George Playing Fields (PO6 3TE)
Winter Training | Wednesday | 6.00pm - 7.00pm | HSDC College - Southdowns Campus (PO7 8AA)
Saturday matches | Time and location to be confirmed each week. | Our home ground is at Bidbury Junior School (PO9 3EF)
Please ensure your child wears the correct footwear, shin pads and brings a water bottle to all training and matches. Please speak to your coach if you have any questions.
Children's Welfare
Every child or young person who plays or participates in football should be able to take part in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from abuse. This is the responsibility of every adult.
The welfare of all children remains our key priority. All coaches have attended the FA First Aid and Safeguarding course and are fully equipped to support with any issues that may arise.
We have a dedicated welfare officer, Kim Lea, who champions the safety and well-being of our players, coaches, and volunteers, handles safeguarding issues, promotes inclusivity, and fosters a positive environment for everyone involved in the club.
